Working With The Community

The foundation supports the efforts of Care UK employees who raise thousands of pounds for charity every year through our Working With The Community match funding initiative. If our colleagues raise money for a registered charity that supports projects in the UK, this scheme matches the initial money raised up to a maximum contribution of £1,000.

We’ve provided match funding for a wide variety of fun and often gruelling challenges. Recently, two colleagues took on the 100-mile Ride London event – a tough cycling route which includes sections that formed part of the Olympic and Tour de France races – to support charities that are close to their hearts. With match funding they raised £2,480 for the Alzheimer’s Society, while another colleague from Ipswich also raised £2,600 for the Stroke Association from taking part in the same event. In the north of England, two teams chose to raise funds for a local children’s hospice, and, with match funding, their total reached more than £3,000. The head of fundraising at that charity described the donation as “helping to keep our doors open, providing specialist support to children and young adults with life-shortening conditions”.

Other match funding donations have been made to more than 100 national and local charities, including the British Stammering Association, Cancer Research UK, Children in Need, Diabetes UK, Help for Heroes, Leukaemia Care and the Veterans Charity, all thanks to our kind-hearted colleagues who’ve taken time out of their busy lives to raise funds for good causes.
